1.Check to make sure all your air flow ducts are wide open. There should be a knob at one end and it should be open to the middle or to one side completely.
2. Add thermometers in each room and set your air conditioner thermostat two degrees lower than what you typically set it at. You’ll need to do this in hour intervals so you can measure each room’s temperature change.
3. After an hour check each room’s temperature to the temperature you have set on the thermostat. To adjust the temperature of the room you can move the damper knob a third of the way and then recheck the room in an hour. This should continue until each room matched the temperature of the thermostat.
4. Once you have all your rooms balanced, it’s a good idea to mark where the damper is positioned with an “S” for summer. You may have to rebalance your ducts in the winter to evenly distribute your heat.
